Maddie's 10 month post

My Maddie Louise is now TEN months old!! She's a sweet, loving, and sneaky little girl. She is still growing each and everyday. She's wearing 12 month clothes for the most part. She can still fit into some 6 month and 9 month clothes, but it's mostly 12 month. She is still in size 3 diapers (for now) and is still wearing Target brand during the day and Luvs at night.

She is still doing her 3 bottles. The morning and nighttime bottle are 7 ounces each (sometimes she doesn't finish the full bottle) and her afternoon bottle is about 4 ounces. I'm thinking that her afternoon bottle will be gone completely before she turns 1. I would really love for her to cut it out completely by the end of the month, but I'm not in charge of that! Sometimes she gets ahead of herself and doesn't finish her bottle. She will get up in the middle of it and go find Connor to see what he's doing. I have to physically put her back on the boppy and give her the bottle for her to finish it. Sometimes I even have to watch her finish it. I love that she holds her own bottle, but sometimes I get distracted myself and don't know if she's finished or not until a little later when I pick it up to clean it.

Maddie is still doing great with table food. There is nothing this girl won't eat. If it's in front of her, she will eat it. Cheese sticks are the perfect little snack for her. She loves them and they are portable. She also has been eating pouched applesauce. I'm going to need to get my baby bullet and pouch filler out again. The pouch foods are perfect for the ball field, so if it's something I can make, I'll definitely do it. This is the perfect way for her to get all of her fruits in. I'll be making "smoothies" for her and maybe Connor will eat them too ;)

She is still on the same sleeping pattern. 12-13 hours at night and two naps. Her afternoon nap is still around 3 hours and coordinates well with Connor's nap. Her first nap is pretty quick, around 30 minutes. She sure will let you know when she is ready for it. She's beginning to crawl to her crib and pull up on it when she is ready to go down. She's been doing that for the past 3 days now. It's just her way of telling me she's ready for a nap. I don't mind it one bit. It's definitely something different because we all know Connor will not lay down on his own. He doesn't have a problem going to sleep, he just doesn't initiate it. Maybe he will learn something from Maddie.

Maddie is all over the place!! We have to make sure to close doors because we never know what she is going to get into. Girl is always on a mission. Most of the time it's following her brother around, but whatever it is she's always determined. She has begun to climb stairs. We don't have stairs in our house, so she's never had the challenge. However, one night at a game, she decided that she was going to escape and climb up the stairs. It just blew my mind watching her go. She also has decided that she is going to climb down the step into our garage. It is crazy what this girl thinks she can do.

She hasn't really said many other words other than the 5 or so that she has been saying. She has started to kick and bounce when she gets excited. Most of the time she gets excited about food, but it's still funny to see her carry on with her bouncing. She has also started to let go of whatever she's holding onto and balance for a split second. Last night she shifted from Connor's dresser to my arm by completely letting go of the dresser to get to my arm. When I get her out of her crib, she will let go of the side to put her hands up so I can grab her. It's really only a split second, but it's something. I'm really not thinking walking is anytime soon, but it's nice to see her actually try to balance. She doesn't walk behind toys like Connor did, but he also never balanced like she is trying to. It's amazing at how different babies can be even when you give them the same treatment.

She has 2 new teeth, and possibly working on more!! She had a few days where she woke up around 7:30 (which is completely out of character for her) so I got the feeling that her teeth were coming in. Her teeth come in from behind her gums so I wasn't able to see anything. One day I ran my fingers across her gums, and there they were. They are beginning to come down to where you can see them from the front. Last night and the night before, she woke up crying in her bed (also out of character for her) so I have been giving her some ibuprofen and it's helped tremendously.

Here are some pictures I took of her today when we were eating lunch at the field. Her blue eyes are so beautiful, if I must say so myself ;)
