Our Busy Weekend

We had a busy, but fun, weekend! Saturday, October 19th, my parents and siblings met at our house in Greenville to head to Tuckasegee, NC for a wedding. We had been looking forward to this wedding for a while now, and were so excited that it had finally arrived! A childhood friend married the love of her life at Castle Ladyhawke, and it was absolutely gorgeous. The scenery was breathtaking, the food and company were fantastic, and the wedding was elegant. We were warned that it was going to be a bit chilly, but it wasn't too bad. I was a little worried about how Connor was going to act during the ceremony because he does not like being held. He did extremely well, but he was ready to get down and play once it was over. Below are some pictures we took, none of which are of the bride and groom (what kinda friends are we??)

Isn't this view gorgeous?

Today, we took Connor to the pumpkin patch. I've seen a bunch of people take their little ones and I really wanted to take my little one too. We had a great time picking out the perfect pumpkin to carve for Halloween. It was a little hot in the sun, but we found one! Here are some pictures from the pumpkin patch:

Oh mom, where did you take me?

This one is bigger than I am!

"Yep. This one is good!"

Fluor Field at the West End

While taking Cameron his lunch on Tuesday, some of his co-workers were talking about "the Green Monster". It got me thinking that I haven't really seen the ballpark, other than the press box and Cameron's office. I mentioned to him that I would like to see the ballpark, so he gave Connor and I a tour. It was actually pretty neat!

We first started at "the Green Monster" (the scoreboard). I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting, but I was amazed at how big it was. The numbers they display are metal and the team names are either metal or a laminated cardboard (these are used for colleges); they are HEAVY!

Next stop was the locker rooms. The home locker room was set up for a presentation, so it wasn't set up as it would be during the season. We were, however, able to get a really good look at the visitor's locker room. I've never seen a locker room in person before (the only images I have in my head are from movies), but these were really nice! The lockers were bigger than I expected. The room itself was big, but I guess it would have to be in order to accommodate so many men. The weight room wasn't as big as I thought it would be, but it still had a lot of equipment. I guess I'm used to going to the gym and seeing all of the machines.

We then took a look in the dugouts. They're pretty typical dugouts. Cameron mentioned that behind the door was a bathroom. I kinda chuckled at that, but I guess it would come in handy if a game ran long.

I've been up in the press box, so we skipped that. I hadn't been in a suite before, so we went into one of them. I didn't realize how awesome they were. There's an air conditioned room that's set up with food to eat during the game. It has a huge window so if you were too hot, you could sit and watch the game inside while you cool off. There's a door that leads you down to an area with seats so you can sit outside and enjoy the game also. The view from up there is fantastic!

My Very First Blog Post

Well, I've been debating for a while now about starting a blog. So much has happened in the past year and a half that I can hardly catch my breath sometimes. I've decided that I'm going to start writing everything down (like I need anything else to keep up with) so friends and family can see what's going on in more detail than the pictures I post on Facebook and Instagram.

Let's see here... Cameron and I were married in June of 2012 and found out we were pregnant in July. After the shock wore off, we were extremely excited that God had chosen us to be parents shortly after uniting us as one. On March 7, 2013 at 8:35am, we welcomed our beautiful baby boy into the world. Connor Miles White had arrived, and we couldn't have been any more excited and nervous. Now, our "little" boy is 7 months old and has me chasing him every which way. It's very tiring, but I wouldn't change it for the world.

Going through the calendar I have for Connor, here are the milestones he's achieved:

March 7: Born at 8:35am, 8lbs. 2oz., 21 inches long
March 9: Came home from the hospital

April 8: First smile
April 18: Finds his hands
April 29: Sleeps through the Night (10 full hours!)

May 9: Finds his toes
May 23: Grabs objects
May 28: Flipped over from belly to back

June 13: Rolled over from back to belly
June 18: Laughs out loud
June 24: Sits up in a "tri-pod"

July 9: First bite of cereal
July 23: Sits straight up and down
July 29: First bite of veggies

August 2: First bite of fruit
August 30: First word "ma-ma"

September 4: Pulls-up
September 11: Says "da-da"
September 19: Crawls
September 24: Feeds himself
September 29: Gives kisses

In 7 short months, my little squirt has grown to a whole 17.4 pounds and 27 3/4" long (these are my measurements). He sleeps 12-13 hours each night (occasionally it's 11 1/2) and only takes 2 short naps (usually 30 minutes) during the day. His 9 month clothes are a little big on him, but all of his fall clothes are that size so that's what I'm putting on him. He is crawling all over the place and pulling up on everything!! He just recently started scaling things to get to where he wants. This makes me a little sad because I don't want him to grow up too fast, but I'm also very excited to see what the future holds.
