He weighs in at a whopping 21lbs 11.5oz (77th percentile) and is an entire 29.3 inches long (73rd percentile). So, basically he's bigger than Connor was at 1 and close to Maddie's size (he's not quite as heavy but he's taller). I was honestly expecting him to be bigger, believe it or not. He's definitely a great eater!
Speaking of eating, he is doing 3 six ounce sippy cups a day. He no longer wants a bottle, so we stick with the sippy cup. I think it's because he can hold the sippy cup and can control it better. I really don't mind this since it doesn't pin me down for those minutes he eats. It also makes me a little sad because that just means he's growing up. But, that's what babies do. He eats pretty much anything and everything you put in front of him. He still loves his peanut butter fold overs at lunch. And his favorite snack food are still the little crunchies.
He is still an excellent sleeper. He wakes-up around 8 (sometimes before if Connor wakes up to go potty and wakes him up). He then goes down for a nap around 9:30 and sleeps until 10:30 or 11. Then he goes back down for a nap around 1 and sleeps until 4:30 or 5. Then he goes to bed around 8 (sometimes before and sometimes later). If this boy does not get these naps and for this length of time, he is CRANKY! He's also the easiest to put down to sleep. Connor and Maddie like to chat and get out of bed a couple of times to give more kisses and hugs before they fall asleep. Cooper is super easy. We literally lay him down, cover him with a blanket, and turn his lullabies and projector on. He's pretty much asleep within 30 seconds. It's sooooooo nice. If he is fussy, we know that he needs something before we put him down -- like a few more ounces in a cup or a diaper change.
He finally began crawling forward. It's taken a while for him to actually move forward and like it. After speaking with the pediatrician today, she said that average age of crawling is actually 10 months. I always thought it was around 8 months or so because Connor and Maddie both were crawling around that time. But, turns out I was wrong and he's on track. He's also pulling up and beginning to scale things a little bit. I forgot that once babies pull up, that's ALL they want to do. Literally, he crawls over to anything and tries pulling up on it. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Boy does he get mad when it doesn't work out.
He still isn't saying much or babbling much. He's still pretty good at saying "AHHHHH!" on different volume levels. He's saying "uh-oh" a little bit when he drops something and we're pretty sure he said "dada" once. Other than that, it's not much. My pediatrician did say that he's doing just fine and that it is normal for the third to do this. He just mainly sits back and observes. Plus, he's only supposed to have 1-3 words at the age of 1. So if 'uh-oh" is the only thing he says for the next 3 months, then that's just fine. Besides, I'm not sure I can handle another one screaming my name all the time just yet :) Just give me another month or two or ten!!
He loves his jumperoo. Literally, jumps all the time in it still. I keep thinking one day he isn't going to like it anymore. However, I'm fortunate he still likes it because it keeps him in one place. Now that he's crawling, he's all over the house. And he wants to pull up on everything so it makes it easier to keep an eye on him.
He's a fun, loving,
