Connor Miles is now 11 months old! It's hard to believe that we only have 4 more weeks until his first birthday! I didn't weigh or measure him, but I think he's around 20 pounds. I think he's finally hit a growth spurt this past month. He looks taller and is now in size 12 month clothes. He had been in his 9 month clothes since September!
He is still sleeping from 7:30 pm until 8-8:30 am. The only time he wakes up is if he isn't feeling well, like last night, when he had a tummy ache and didn't sleep well :/ I think he has nightmares. There have been quite a few nights where he just sobs, but he's still asleep. It's the weirdest thing. Luckily, it doesn't bother him too much and he stays asleep.
He's recently changed his feeding schedule. He's only wanting two 8 ounce bottles. One at 9 am and the other at 7:15ish when he goes to bed. I'm a little worried that he isn't getting as much as he needs, but I can't get him to eat that middle bottle. He still eats table food at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For breakfast he usually eats yogurt and a banana. When I pack lunch, he gets a peanut butter and jelly fold over, a slice of cheese, and a fruit (peaches, mandarin oranges, or raisins). For dinner, he either eats off our plates when we go out, or he eats chicken, minestrone soup, and another food when we eat at home. He doesn't refuse to eat anything, but I usually have to give him his veggies first in order for him to eat them.
He is still not walking yet, but he is so close! Right now, he needs someone's finger to hold on to. Even when he's holding on to your finger, he isn't putting much weight on it. I think he needs to gain his confidence with standing before he takes off. He can stand on his own when he's distracted, but as soon as he realizes he's standing alone, he will crouch down to crawl. He still cruises along furniture, toys, people, etc to get to somewhere. I didn't want him to walk for the longest time because I wasn't ready to chase him. So, I kept him in his playpen with all of his toys. He was content with it, and I was just fine with it. One day, I realized how silly I was being and keeping him from walking. I took down the playpen and have allowed him to roam around the house. He may be walking by now if I weren't being so selfish. We'll see what happens this next month.
He just recently started saying "baby". It is so sweet!! The last time we had an ultrasound, he kept looking at the baby and saying "baby! baby! baby!" It was the sweetest thing ever. He also tries to say "puppy," but it comes out more like "bubby." It's too cute. We recently spent 8 days in Columbia with my parents and they have two cats. Every morning, he would see one, hold his hand up to wave, and say "hey baby!" I couldn't help but laugh every time. He also says "hey da!" Cameron loves this phrase a lot, and I can see why. We're working on "hey ma!"
Connor officially has two front teeth! The first one really popped through on February 1st, and the second one popped through yesterday. We've been waiting on these teeth for a few months. These teeth seem to be bothering him a little more than usual. He has had a hard time getting to sleep when he naps and at night. He's been wanting to be rocked to sleep and then put down. We usually just put him in his crib and he falls asleep on his own. The past two days have been a lot easier to put him down, so I'm thinking we are over the rocking to sleep phase for now.
Here are some pictures of Connor at dada's work!
