Happy Half Birthday to Maddie!

Maddie is 18 months old. It's actually hard to believe she is only 18 months old because it feels like she's been here forever. She weighs 24lbs 11oz (85th percentile) and is 32 inches long (55th percentile). She also finished up her last vaccines yesterday! Woohoo!

We think her acid reflex might be back (boo!!!). So, we are going to try giving her something over the counter to try to get that under control. She is going to start getting 2% milk. Since her weight has continued to stay at such a higher percentile, this is one step we are trying out to see if it helps level her out some. She's still my great little eater.

She is working on her last tooth. She has 3 and the 4th is almost through. These canines are the worst, and I'm just ready for it to be over with. When she's a little irritated, I just give her ibuprofen or teething tablets and she's good to go. Thankfully we are almost done!!

She is doing extremely well developmentally. We are no longer having to count words because she is repeating almost every word we ask her to say. She doesn't necessarily remember them, but she is saying them. Her new favorite word is "puppy." Connor was on this word for a very long time, so I'm just waiting for it to pick up.

She really enjoys her Disney princesses. She sleeps with her Anna figurine every night. It keeps her entertained in the mornings when we aren't quite ready to get her out of her bed. It's also really cute when she can't find them. She digs under her covers and pillow and says "where'd it go?!?" We both look for it, find it, and she gives her kisses. She also loves to watch Sophia on Disney Junior. She dances to her songs and claps when they are over. It's the sweetest.

Her newest interest is the potty. She has amazed me these past two weeks with telling me when she has pooped in her diaper. I'm absolutely floored every time. She is nowhere near ready for potty training, but it's a good sign that she's beginning to tell me when she poops. I put her on the potty just to pretend and let her get acquainted with it. My hope is that this will help when she does begin potty training. This may stick and it may just be a fun thing to do right now, only time will tell. I'm still encouraged to look for the same three signs that we looked for with Connor (1. stays dry for 2 hours at a time 2. tells me before she poops 3. can pull her pants up and down on her own). I'm not exactly ready to potty train her just yet, so I'm okay with it being pretend for now. Ask me again in 6 months and my feelings might be different ;)

I don't really have many newer pictures of her since the last blogpost, but here are two cute ones.

Every morning, she sits in the chair with her baby doll in front of my mirror so I can do her hair. She's such a little princess.

My little doll baby!
