16 Months!

It is hard to believe that my little boy will soon be a big brother! I still think he grows each and every day, which is a good thing. Not entirely sure how much he weighs these days. He sees me weigh myself everyday, so he weighs himself whenever he's in my bathroom. Recently, the scale said 23.8 pounds but who only knows how accurate that was. He's still wearing size 12 or 18 month shirts and 6-9 or 12 month shorts. He's wearing size 4 diapers and 5W shoes, which are a little bit big but he kept falling down in the 4.5 shoes.

Connor is constantly eating. He eats just about anything, except green beans. He is definitely not a fan of those. He still loves his mac and cheese, but he also loves corn and sweet carrots. For the 4th of July, he had a whole lot of steak and insisted on eating corn off the cob (just like all of the adults). He's still doing two sippy cups of milk and the rest is water. We still aren't giving him juice, and we are trying to hold out on that as long as possible.

He has now decided to cut out his first nap completely. Dr. Butcher said he would probably drop it soon, but I was hoping that he would continue with it for another month or two. I guess when he wakes up between 10 and 11, the first nap isn't really necessary. His nap is usually from 1-5. If he doesn't get the full 4 hours in, he usually falls asleep before 10pm. For the past few mornings, he has been waking up between 5:30 and 6. I know it's because he has two molars that are coming in. I give him a little bit of ibuprofen and he will go back to sleep until 11. Thank goodness for ibuprofen!

He now has 10 teeth! That bottom tooth finally popped through. So he now has four on top, four on the bottom, and his top two molars. The bottom two molars are just about in and I think one of his upper canine teeth is coming in. Poor little fella.

He has a few new words. I can't really remember them all off the top of my head but I remember he can say moon, bubble(s), bird, and please. When he says his words, he starts them but doesn't always finish them. Like when he says bird, it comes out "birrrrr" and please is "pwea". But, I'll take it! It amazes me what words he will pick up on and which ones he just completely ignores. He's really interested in new words, so he will point to something and have me tell him what it is. He knows birds are in the sky, so when he sees a plane, he calls it a "birrr." I'll say it's a plane and then he thinks about it. I know he's trying to figure out how to say things, but he just can't. At least he's trying!

He can correctly name eyes, nose, and mouth if you point to them on your face. Just like he does with most of his words, he doesn't finish them yet. He says "eye" for eye but nose is "na" and mouth is "ma." If I ask him where his eye is he won't point to it, but he will point to my eye and say "eye."

He has this new thing of falling down and doing belly flops just for attention. Well, it surely gets him attention. Cameron and I think it is absolutely hysterical. He just runs and slides and says "uh-oh!" This kid is such a character. His personality grows more and more each month.

I didn't get a chance to take pictures of him today (it's been a busy day), but here are some pictures off my phone of him throughout the month. I've also uploaded a video of him eating with a spoon. It gets very messy, but he's getting the hang of it.

He really loves to wear a hat

We even have one for my car
