The first look at our little girl. If her hands weren't in her face, the umbilical chord was. The ultrasound tech did her best, but she said she's almost too big for the 3D. When we did Connor's, he was a week and a half smaller. I don't think she looks like Connor at all. I thought they may end up having the same nose but, the more I look at it, her nose isn't quite as round. She definitely has some cheeks on her.

Looks like she is blowing bubbles

A little smile

I wish she would have moved her hand. Below is a picture of Connor's 3D ultrasound (I tried to get the same angle). I don't think they look that much alike, but I guess only time will tell if she does or doesn't look like him. I think Connor looked more like Cameron's baby pictures and she looks more like mine. Again, we will have to wait and see.

Getting the Nursery Ready

I've been waiting for quite sometime to be able to get the nursery ready for this little girl. I've had the furniture, just nothing else. After the baby shower on Saturday, we were fortunate to receive everything else we needed to complete the nursery. Since Cameron is off today (and Connor has been asleep for the past two and a half hours) I was able to tackle, and mostly finish, the nursery. Below are some pictures of what has been completed.

This table will be white

My sister is making something to put over the dresser in the closet... all the white blank space is driving me crazy!!

Baby Shower for Baby #2

Saturday, May 24th, my mother-in-law hosted a baby shower for our little girl at her house. It was nice to see everyone, and for everyone to see how big Connor is now. We started off by having lunch and then moved onto her craft. One thing I've learned about the White's is that if it's a big gathering, you need to bring your arts and crafts skills because they will have some sort of craft for you to do. This function's craft was a scrapbook. Everyone got a page with a letter on it and you had to draw something that started with that letter. Some letters are easier than others, but it was fun to see how everyone interpreted each letter. I had a little help from the wild man with my letter, which was "J", so it ended up being jagged lines. After the craft, we moved onto opening presents. There isn't a whole lot of things we need for her since we have everything from Connor. The main thing we need are clothes, and boy did she get a lot of clothes. Shopping for a girl is way different than shopping for a boy. I get so overwhelmed with shopping for her because there is so much to choose from. With the generosity from all of our friends and family, I don't think I'll need to step foot in a store for quite some time. Now all we have to do is wait for miss priss' arrival.

Finally Having Connor's Pictures Taken

One of our friend's from high school, Kate Drinkwater, recently posted that she would be in Greenville and wanted to set up some photo shoots with anyone interested in having pictures made. Cameron and I have been wanting to have someone photograph Connor around his 1st birthday, but with how our life has been the past two months, we haven't gotten around to it. Once Cameron saw her post, we jumped at the opportunity. We were wanting to take them on Furman's pretty campus, but it was closed due to graduation that night. We finally settled on Cleveland Park, which actually turned out just great. I knew having his picture made would be quite a task, but I didn't realize it would have been that difficult. He's not one to sit still or relax at all, and this day was no different. He wanted to chase and pet every dog that passed us. He hardly sat in the chair I brought and he definitely wouldn't sit on the ground for more than 2 seconds. We kept chasing after him and when she asked him to do something, he would pretend like he didn't know what she was saying (booger!!!). I felt like we were wasting her time and I was totally bummed out. She said she had gotten some good ones, so I just had to trust that she knew what she was doing. She had the pictures sent to me the next day. I was amazed at how fast she went through them and edited them. I was so relieved when I saw them because she had really captured some great photos. Not that I was worried about the quality, just the subject ;) Below are some of my favorites.

Gah, I just love his blue eyes!

Cameron is quite proud of his pitching grimace

14 Months!

I thought March flew by, but here we are now into May! It's hard to believe that Connor will soon be a big brother (give or take 11 more weeks). He's definitely grown some, from what I can tell. He is now in size 4 diapers, but still wears size 12 month shirts and 6-9 month shorts. I think the shorts he has on today are size 12 months, and they are almost falling off of him (but they're so cute!). Last week at an appointment, he weighed just over 22 pounds (up one pound from his 1 year well check-up) and he measured 30 inches (up 1 inch from his 1 year well check-up). He has been such a slow grower, but I don't mind one bit. He's so much fun this age, but he sure is growing into his curious personality.

He hasn't been eating much this month. He will go a day or two where he eats his normal amount of food, and then he will go 5-10 days where he just doesn't want much at all. I was concerned a little at first, but as long as he's keeping his fluid levels at a normal range, I'm okay. He's still doing 2-3 sippy cups full of whole milk, but I'm trying to give him more water during the day. It's getting a little warm outside, and I feel that water would be better for him with the heat than the milk. His favorite food is still cheese. On the days where he doesn't eat much, he eats a lot of cheese sticks and cheese cubes.

His sleeping schedule has shifted a little since the Drive games have started. He now is going to bed later, which means he's waking up later. He wakes up between 10-10:45 and falls asleep around 10-10:30. He has one quick nap around 1 and then a long one from 3-6. Some days, he skips the quick nap which pushes his later nap up a little bit.

Connor now has 9 teeth! He has his top four, three on the bottom, and his two top molars have worked their way through. I'm almost positive this is why he hasn't been eating well. He woke up a few nights in a row just sobbing and wanting some comfort. Once I felt two molars in his mouth, I completely understood why. After they popped through, he was back to sleeping the full night without waking up.

I've tried to take his paci away from him. He's old enough to where he doesn't necessarily need it, but he just wants it as a comfort tool. A nutritionist told me that it can keep his teeth from growing in correctly. I was worried about this at first, but he only really takes it when he's going to sleep. I'm also worried that if I take it away now, he will just revert back to it once his little sister arrives. I'll have a talk with our pediatrician about it when we go in June, but I think he's okay for now.

He has always been a very curious baby and aware of his surroundings. I've noticed it more and more this month. He's very independent and loves to do things on his own. If he can't do it on his own, he gets really heated. If you ask him if he would like some help, he will nod his head "yes," and allow you to assist him. If I try to help him without him trying it on his own first, he does not like it at all. He likes to open drawers and cabinets, look in them, and pull stuff out to examine it. His favorite place to get into is Cameron's bedside table. It has a lot of loose change in it (which we are planning on moving). He pulls out a coin, examines it, and walks off with it like he's satisfied. If I'm doing something and I don't hear him making some sort of noise, I'll look around just to find him reading a book to himself. It's absolutely precious to see him trying to read, even if the book is upside down.

He has recently become obsessed with Chipper. He wakes up saying "puppy!" and wants to see Chipper. He says puppy all day long. If there's a commercial on tv that has a dog in it, he screams "puppy!" When he reads his books, every picture is a puppy. It's so sweet to hear him say puppy, but I'm ready for a new word. He has also started calling Cameron "daddy" instead of just "da-da." I'm not exactly sure where he picked this up, but it's cute! When we go take Cameron lunch, he sees him and screams "daddy!" It melts my heart. He's also picked up on "uh oh!" It sounds more like "uh uh" but it's definitely "uh oh." He hasn't quite figured out that "uh oh" is supposed to be used for an accident though. He will intentionally drop something and say "uh oh," or he will say "uh oh" before he drops something. It makes me laugh every time he does it.

He's also developed a little sense of humor. He walks around in circles and laughs until he falls down. He also genuinely laughs when others around him are laughing. He laughs at Chipper and when he's playing on his own. I love his little laugh! I will never get tired of it.

Here are some pictures of Connor.

What's that face for? It's only a picture!
